The sole purpose of a metal failure investigation is to identify a metallurgical opinion of what caused a component failure or fracture based on fact.
Since most of our clients are not metallurgical engineers, we at ASAP Metal Testing create test reports that are easy to understand for the non-engineering audience. We use photographs that are embedded in the report to better explain the technical words. There is always a “shopping list” of metallurgical test results that confirm the findings for the technical audience as well.

Both large and small companies subcontract metallurgical issues when their internal engineering staff is overworked or does not have laboratory testing equipment. We have many routine clients for whom we act as their internal claims/warranty engineers. These engineers rely on our engineering team to rapidly solve product problems from the field or internally during production.
Client Support
ASAP Metal Testing is the only provider of metallurgical laboratory services that includes a live video conference call with your client’s customer if there is some dispute or lack of understanding concerning the report findings. This is offered for many reasons:
- We feel it is our job (when necessary) to further explain a report’s findings to your client so there is complete understanding by all parties of what caused the failure.
- The conclusions and technical data are discussed so that all parties understand and agree with the report's findings. It is also important to identify what we did not see.
- We do not expect our clients to explain the test report conclusions to their clients. That is our job.
